Short Biography:
Dr. Kanitpong is an associate professor in Transportation Engineering Program at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). She completed her doctoral studies in Civil Engineering specializing in Highway Materials and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) in 2004. She obtained her master’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Maryland at College Park (USA) in 1999. She graduated from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) where she gets her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1997. Her areas of expertise revolve around the highway engineering, geometric design and highway safety, and accident data analysis. Currently, she is a manager of Thailand Accident Research Center (TARC) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). She has been involved in several research projects in traffic safety and accident data analysis supported by Thai government and other research organizations, and she has been served in national and international committees on the prevention and reduction of road accidents.
